The structure presented below is a personal proposal for organizing the key concepts and areas of study within physical oceanography. This categorization is, of course, open to debate, and other equally valid approaches could be considered depending on specific research perspectives and priorities. Nevertheless, this framework aims to provide a practical way of visually grouping and understanding the main branches of the discipline.
